2021 Tesla SUV
2021 Tesla SUV One of Tesla’s most prominent hackers have learned that the company is about to upgrade the Model S and Model X, the two oldest tags in its three-car line. The company often makes changes to its vehicles through its over-the-air software update system, but the next round of upgrades will include hardware changes made at the factory.
A mysterious hacker going by the name Green wrote on Twitter that the Tesla files he was able to view reveal that the S and X are about to receive a wireless device charger, two new batteries, new-look seats, a charging port different suspension, and a redesigned suspension. The addition of a Qi charger may require a wider redesign of the interior, which rumors have indicated in recent months. The S and X could also get the same touchscreen as the 3 and Y. And while we’re intrigued by the new batteries, details about their capacity remain under control for the time being.

When 2021 Tesla SUV started producing the Model S in 2012, the sedan stood out as the first car developed internally by the young company. A mid-cycle upgrade brought a sharper-looking front end in 2016. The Model X went into production in 2015 and hasn’t changed significantly since then, although engineers have made some minor changes to it. At four and five years, respectively, both cars should have a mid-cycle upgrade to industry standards.
While the California-based company has not commented on the report, it wouldn’t be less surprising if it’s accurate because a quick glance at annual sales confirms that both cars need an upgrade. In 2019, Tesla sold 19,225 model X and 14,100 Model S units in the United States, down 26.3% and 45.2% respectively compared to 2018. The competition is waking up – even the Model S is no longer in a class of one – and customers are taking note. Expect both Tesla updated models to make their debut by the middle of 2020.
While the hacker has found no evidence of this in Tesla’s files, the company has previously confirmed that it is developing an even faster evolution of the Model S that will inaugurate a powertrain called Plaid. It will consist of three electric motors – one in front, two on the back – and will be accompanied by a complete selection of suspension changes made to improve handling. Tesla’s goal is to dethrone Porsche on Nuremberg, its home track. The as-yet-unnamed Model S will be at the top of Tesla’s range when it makes its debut in summer 2020.

All Model Xs are standard with two electric motors, one on the front and one rear axle, which allow them the all-wheel-drive capability. The standard Long Range model is fast and Tesla takes time from zero to 60-mph of 4.4 seconds. A high-performance variant is also offered that comes with a 305-mile range and a claimed time from zero to 60-mph claimed by 2.7 seconds when its Ludicrous mode is engaged. The handling is respectable, but the trick on the part of the Model X is really the strong acceleration generated by its electric motors.

The Model X is standard with a battery large enough to cover a 325-mile driving range; Upgrading to the fastest Performance model reduces the estimated driving range to 305 miles. Charging is fast via one of Tesla’s Superchargers, which are located across the country. Charging at home over a 240V or 120V connection will be slower, but probably cheaper for owners, so 2021 Tesla SUV offers home charging equipment for purchase.
Among other all-electric SUVs, the Model X boasts the EPA’s highest MPGe ratings. The Long Range models scored 99 cities, 93 highways and 96 MPGe combined. The Performance model, which sacrifices some efficiency for faster acceleration, also outperforms key rivals such as Jaguar I-Pace and Audi e-Tron SUVs in this metric.
2021 Tesla SUV Price
The Ludicrous mode Performance model would certainly be the most fun, but it’s very expensive and its estimated 305-mile driving range isn’t as long as the least expensive Long Range model, so we’d save 20,000 dollars. The Long Range offers 20 miles more estimated driving range and still feels powerful fast thanks to the immediacy of electric engine power supply.
